We Had Mansions is officially 1 year old today, and I’m thrilled to report that the book is a Finalist for the 2026 Ohio Book Award for Poetry!!
I’m up against some of my favorite poets, so I’m going to be jazzed no matter who wins, and I’m just thrilled We Had Mansions has made it this far. I’m celebrating this Finalist news as if I’ve won, because this is the kind of news that makes you want to keep going, knowing you’re on the right path. It’s taken me years to fully trust my creative instincts, but I’m so glad I finally learned.
