I love writing stories for the National Trust for Historic Preservation because I adore old buildings. Not just for the aesthetic, but for how beloved they are in a community.
That’s especially true in Pine Grove, Virginia, which has one of the few remaining Tuskegee-Rosenwald schoolhouses. But god forbid a rural Black community should have good things because a nasty toxic waste recycling facility wants to come to town, conveniently right by this piece of history. (insert pissed off eye-roll here)
