An ode to Waffle House

I’m a human of simple pleasures and am generally content to stay home unless there’s a skatepark, roller rink, bookstore, coffee shop, or Waffle House involved.

That last one is important. I’ve loved Waffle House ever since I can remember. I distinctly remember when my mom and I moved when I was 12, the new town had a Waffle House like 3 miles down the winding country road from our house and the next town over had a Waffle House too, so if one was crowded you could just go to the other. The dream!

I wrote about my love of Waffle House and why it’s my favorite place for Columbus Monthly. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever written and I hope you love it too.

Also, it’s my dream to be the Waffle House writer-in-residence, so if anyone reading this has any sway over that, please send up a good word. :)
