New poem, fresh out!
Sometimes you write a poem and you know it’s a banger, but it gets rejected a dozen or more times and you have no idea why. You stare at it on and off for several months trying to figure out what you can improve, you ask your poetry workshop group for feedback, and you make tweaks here and there, but something tells you it’s done, it just hasn’t found the right home yet.
That’s what happened with “the miracle of loaves & fishes.”
I was starting to wonder if the poem was ever going to find a home when it was accepted by Phoebe Journal! They don’t normally do a summer issue, but the editors are so passionate about platforming Palestinian voices that they did one for us. Give the whole issue a read; it’s phenomenal!
“the miracle of loaves & fishes” is one of the poems that will be in my forthcoming full-length collection, We Had Mansions. :)
