NEW BOOK ALERT! I have a full-length poetry collection coming out next year!
I’m so excited to share that my second book (my first poetry collection) is being published by Diode Editions in 2025!!!
It’s called We Had Mansions, and it’s about Palestine, love, family, and nature.
How a lot of poetry books get published these days is you enter them in a contest and the winners are chosen for publication. That’s what happened with me, so here’s the official contest announcement:
There are so many things to love about Diode and what makes it such an honor to publish with them.
Right on their website’s homepage is a commitment to PACBI, or the Palestinian Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, which is a part of the BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) movement. And I’m thrilled to say that I wouldn’t be the “token Palestinian” because not only have they published Palestinians in the past, Hind Shoufani, who will also have her book published next year, is also Palestinian.
Not gonna lie, over the past month since Midwest Shreds was published, the imposter syndrome started creeping in. I worried that my getting one book published was a fluke or a lucky break, and worried that it might never happen again. I’ve heard so many authors say that the second book is the hardest to write that it psyched me out, so finding out that my poetry collection will be published is such a sigh of relief.
Maybe this whole author thing just might work out after all. <3
